Greetings!
Early Sobriety
I hope everyone is well. This week on my podcast I talked about my experience through early sobriety, the first few months of recovery were the worst for me. I shared some tools that worked for me in that crucial time and I want to share a few with you here.
Treat yourself. This goes beyond self praise, which is very important, but rather real gifts to yourself. It will be different for everyone. For me if was buying myself a cute ourtfit at the end of every week, or buying my favorite dessert or watching my favorite movie at home. Giving yourself a treat at the end of a day week or month gives your mind something to look forward that does not include a drink.
Screaming. I am serious on this one. In those early days, so much emotion comes up that you might not know what to do with. I was overwhelmed with how I was feeling so I came home at the end of the day and screamed on the top of my lungs. I do not recommend doing this if you have thin walls! Perhaps go outside. Some place you feel safe to let everything out. SREAM!
This Weeks Journal Entry
For this weeks journal entry, I recommend everyone reflect on their own journeys. Whether you have been out of early recovery for years or you are in it now, or you are wanting to take the step into early recovery, I would like you to write a few words on this experience. What struggles arise, what worked what didn't. Please note that you do not have to share these journal entrys with me or anyone else if you choose. If you do however, you may share them on this platform or with me directly.
This Weeks Mocktail
This week's mocktail is a staple for me. Easy to make, always tastes refreshing and great for social gatherings. It's the classic NA Gin and Tonic. My favorie ingredients for this drink are Seedlip Garden 108 for my Gin alternative and any tonic water you prefer, I prefer Fever-Tree Tonic.
